Are you a runner looking to improve strength, reduce injury risk and become more powerful and efficient? Coach Aaron and his team at Performance Running Gym will be your guide to a 4-phase running-specific strength training program – designed to be done in conjunction with Run Minnesota’s spring marathon/half marathon training.

The program is delivered online and there are two levels to choose from: beginner or intermediate/advanced. The workout plans come complete with a guide, videos, and detailed exercise descriptions. Minimal equipment is needed (mini-loop resistance bands) and can be done at home or in the gym.

Phase 1: focused on muscular balance and stabilization
Phase 2 & 3: focused on building run-specific strength
Phase 4: focused on maintaining strength and keeping you injury-free in the peak of your training leading up to race day

Pair Your Strength Training with our Spring Marathon/Half Marathon Training

Designed to prepare you for a fun and successful marathon! We offer  the option to either train with a group or train independently.

Training plans include multiple mileage options designed to meet the needs of everyone from beginning marathoners/half marathoners to more experienced runners

Coach Aaron Boike
Strength Training Program

Aaron is the Co-Owner and Lead Trainer for Performance Running and 3CLICK Mobile Fitness, who works with PRG to deliver Personal Training, Run Coaching Boot Camps, and Fitness Assessments to members. Aaron has been running since 2013, completing over 40 races between 26.2 and 103 miles, and dozens of others over the years. Early in his fitness journey, Aaron lost 75 pounds and originally trained as a powerlifter. Aaron has been training clients for over a decade, and brings to the table a deep understanding of how training strength, power, and mobility can dramatically improve running performance and reduce the incidence of injuries. Aaron has a B.S. in Kinesiology and is a Certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Running and Ultrarunning Coach through USECA.
