John Waters

Open Board

I’m John Waters, “Running_Dad.” I am passionate about running and volunteering. My personal mission is to reach a 100-years of age. To accomplish this, I began running in the late 1990s. In 2019, I set out to be listed on the Streak Runners International list of streak runners  (runeveryday.com). To be listed, I needed to run a minimum of a one-mile daily run for a year. My current running streak began on July 2, 2019, #runstreakday: 844 and counting…

I am looking to join the Run Minnesota board so I can leverage my business skills, acumen, and passions for the benefits of the running community. I have spent the past eight years volunteering for my daughter’s school. From leveraging corporate matching corporate gift programs, to events management and fundraising, I have been able to help the organization surpass their goals.

My experience with population health and public health policy are areas where I can bring additional value to the board. I have more than 20 years’ experience designing, developing, and delivering population health (wellness) programs for Fortune 500 companies. These programs have helped improve the health and wellbeing of 1,000s of individuals and their families.

As a board member, I would devote my time to programs, the foundation, and race committees. I have successfully worked as a volunteer for nonprofits.
