Brookings Marathon

Brookings, South Dakota, hosts the 25th oldest marathon in the US, 3rd oldest among those run every year since inception. Though the race has evolved since 1970, the course still includes historic neighborhoods, beautiful parks, bike paths, and tree-lined streets. ​Along the way, runners are supported by hundreds of wonderful volunteers, and opportunities abound for family and friends to cheer.

Madeline Island Marathon and Half Marathon

​Madeline Island Marathon and Half Marathon will take place on May 21, 2022. We recommend that all runners arrive on the island on Friday, May 20, 2022 and stay for the weekend. This trail race winds through the Superior National Forest on dirt trails and gravel roads. All three races begin and end in the city of Hoyt Lakes. The event takes place on the Dakota Rail Trail on the SW edge of the Twin Cities, MN. All distances are on a friendly, flat, paved, course. with Time completion limits are generous, 7 to 9 hours depending on distance. We welcome ordinary walkers, fitness walkers, power walkers, Nordic walkers, race walkers, full-time wheelers (self-propelled and chairs with pushers), walk/runners, and even full-time slower runners.

Dorothy Molter Root Beer Run/Kids Run a Marathon
