The Event Status is TBD for 2023
This trail race winds through the Superior National Forest on dirt trails and gravel roads. All three races begin and end in the city of Hoyt Lakes. This location is on the Iron Range – Northeastern Minnesota – about 70 miles north of Duluth. There is a hill near the start and after that the trail is mostly flat. There is a city campground called Fisherman’s Point a mile from the start with showers and flush toilets. We expect there will also be a designated space near the start that allows free primitive camping on Friday night. There is a hotel in Hoyt Lakes and many hotels on the Iron Range within a 25 mile radius.
New in 2023 is an adventure race – about 10 miles in length. It will be poorly marked, not maintained and designed to make you as miserable as possible. Enjoy.
This will take place in the wilderness. You may see; deer, wolves, coyotes, moose and black bears. Or, you might not see anything but mosquitoes. (We did have a Bigfoot sighting a few years ago. Seriously.) Please be respectful of all wildlife and do not approach. These animals are not tame and can be very dangerous.
Registration will be on the Duluth Diocese Website
